Full Mouthy British Boxer Amir Khan has failed again, this time in the brutal hands of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in Las Vegas. Khan was knocked out in his bid to win the WBC middleweight title. The British fighter who jumped two weight divisions to take the fight dominated the early rounds but was sent crashing to the canvas in the sixth round by a huge right, mero.co.uk reports.
Khan was knocked out cold before he hit the floor and was counted out with 23 seconds remaining of the round. The 29-year-old took a while to recover but later walked out of the ring and paid tribute to Alvarez.
In his reaction, Mr Khan said; ‘I wanted to go out there as a champion, but unfortunately I didn’t make it to the end,’ he said. ‘This challenge came and it was hard to turn down.’
