Nigeria Now President Buhari's Family Biz, As He Appoints His Son In-Law Executive Director, Finance, NIMASA Over Superiors
President Muhammadu Buhari has continued his party's characteristics of trying to convert Nigeria into their private family business. You would recall, must of the initial appointments Mr Buhari made as soon as he assumed office were mainly members of his immediate and extended family. After which the top hierarchy of his party followed suit by resorting to positing their family members and cronies into top positions in major Federal government agencies, such as the CBN, FIRS, NIMASA, Nigerian Police, among others. And one unique thing about these appointments is that non of them were in line with set rules and in effect violated laws and due process which tantamount to corruption.
Not done, Mr Muhammadu Buhari has yet again recommended that the Minister of Transport appoint Mr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh his son In-Law as the Executive Director Finance and Administration of NIMASA over more qualified and long serving officers in the agency. Other Executive Directors appointed includes Mr. Joseph Oluwarotimi Fashakin, the Executive Director, Maritime Safety and Shipping Development and Mr. Gambo Ahmed as the Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services.
The Executive Director Finance and Administration, Mr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh is the son-inlaw to President Mohammadu Buhari. Until his appointment, he was an Assistant Director in NIMASA in charge of Training and Development. He had served in the Kaduna State government before transferring his services to the then National Maritime Authority (NMA) in 1994.
