Claudio Ranieri has been sacked as manager of Leicester City, according to reports. The 65-year-old Italian masterminded the Foxes to their first ever Premier League title last season in what was arguably the greatest achievement in the history of the English top flight.
Speculation had been building that Ranieri would lose his job this term, with Leicester currently sitting 17th in the table and just one place above the relegation zone. The Daily Mail claim that they contacted Leicester over the situation, but the club are yet to comment.
It comes just one day after Leicester were beaten 2-1 by Sevilla in the last-16 of the Champions League at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
Ranieri’s sacking comes just nine months after he lifted the Premier League trophy with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez at the King Power Stadium. With metro.co.uk
