Nigerians Protest In Abuja In Demand For The Release Of Shiite Leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky

Concerned Nigerians trooped out to the streets of Abuja the federal capital in protest demanding for the immediate release of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shiites, who has been in military detention since December 2015 following a clash between members of the Islamic group and the Nigerian Army.

The protesting members are demanding that the Federal government obey a Federal High Court ruling on December 2nd 2016 that ordered the immediate release of El-Zakzaky and his wife Malamatu Zeatudden. The court had ordered that El-Zakzaky and his wife be released within 45 days of the ruling. Five months down the line, they are still in custody.
