President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the military service chiefs to tackle what he called the secret army formed by the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).
According to the Chief of Defence Staff, Abayomi Olonisakin, the issue of the alleged Secret Service of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Boko Haram menace and the various security threats plaguing the country were among what was discussed at the closed-door meeting that held on Tuesday between President Buhari and the Service Chiefs.
Olonisakin disclosed that Buhari has issued directives that will soon be carried out by the military and the security agencies.
You may recall IPOB has vehemently said it's security outfit is a vigilante group formed to make sure criminal elements do not infiltrate the group and to keep watch as the October 1st quit notice given to Igbos living in the northern Nigeria by the Arewa youth approaches.
We wish to remind the Nigerian government that we are watching to see what the security force will make of this order issued by the President Muhammadu Buhari. This may not be different from the order Buhari issued that led to the killing of over 300 IPOB members in 2016, which is still being investigated by the Amnesty International and the International Criminal Court.
