Science and technology minister Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu yesterday confirmed a growing report to APC chieftains during a high-powered southeast meeting in Ebonyi, that governor Rochas Okorocha's son has been flown abroad for medical treatment.
Governor Okorocha's son is said to now be in a stable condition after being flown abroad in the company of his parents - A Government House source fingered Aham's slimming therapy as the probable cause of his illness.
New Telegraph reports that the incident occurred at about the same time President Muhammadu Buhari's son Yusuf also had an accident on a power motorcycle in Abuja. According to the report, Aham Brendan Okorocha's illness was revealed on Sunday, December 31 during an important South East zonal meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at Uburu, Ebonyi state at the country home of former Governor of old Abia state and serving minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.
Onu explained that his son's illness was responsible for Governor Okorocha's absence at the meeting. He said: “I had been in communication with Governor Okorocha and he had assured me that he would attend this meeting but sometime last week, the Governor called me to explain that he may not be able to attend after all as his son had taken ill and had been hospitalized in a London.”
New Telegraph quoted Imo Government House sources as saying that Aham Okorocha, a first Class Engineer, was rushed to a local hospital and later flown abroad for treatment after he slumped during the week of Christmas.
It further quoted a source in Government House as saying Aham's slimming therapy may have been responsible for his illness. He is however said to be currently in a stable condition after he was taken abroad in the company of Governor Okorocha and the Imo First lady. With naija.ng
