There are speculations making rounds on Thursday, that Boko Haram is demanding for 20 billion dollars to release the 110 abducted Dapchi Schoolgirls. Recall that President Buhari had on Monday, opened up on his plans to negotiate for the release of the 110 girls abducted from Dapchi, rather than use a Military operation to free them by force.
“Nigeria prefers to have Schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram from Chibok and Dapchi back alive, and that is why it has chosen negotiation, rather than a Military option”, Buhari had said.
The kidnapping is one of the largest since the jihadist group, Boko Haram, abducted more than 270 Schoolgirls from the North-Eastern town of Chibok in 2014.
Some of the Chibok girls have been freed after what security sources say were ransom payments; around 100 are still being held.
A source who spoke to Post-Nigeria said: “I overheard that Boko Haram is demanding for 20 billion dollars for the release of the Dapchi girls. Remember that Buhari told the former US Secretary of States, Rex Tillerson, that he will negotiate for the girls’ release.” With Post-Nigeria
