The man here in the picture above is an assistant referee slated to officiate at the upcoming World Cup in Russian, who has now resigned after he accepted $600 bribe to help influence match result from an undercover BBC journalist, sports.yahoo.com reports. The journalist possed as a Ghanian football official and then offered the dude the sum of $600 and he accepted without knowing it was a sting and he was being video recorded.

According to the reports, ''while the documentary does not explicitly show the referee in question, Adel Range Marwa, accepting the money in exchange for tampering with a match, referees are not allowed to accept gifts in line with FIFA rules. Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the journalist conducting the investigation, approached Marwa during the Africa Cup of Nations.''

''Among the others caught in the documentary was Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was filmed accepting a fake $65,000 bribe. Since this discovery, the Ghanian government has dissolved the GFA.''
