PLATEAU INDIGENE WHO LOST WIFE AND SON IN FULANI ATTACK ARRESTED FOR GRANTING INTERVIEW

This is the case in Nigeria, they will kill your family and still expect you not to complain or even cry. According to change.org, a man who lost his wife, son and all his wealth in herdsmen attack, was arrested for granting an interview. Police in Jos arrested one Nuhu John Gyang, a victim of last weekend's herdsmen attacks in Exland village allegedly over an interview he granted on the incident.

Mr. Gyang, an internally displaced person taking refuge at his brother's house in Jos was arrested along with his three-year-old son at Sparkling Junction, Dadin Kowa, Jos. Mr. Gyang had granted an interview to Viewpoint Nigeria wherein he described how his wife and kid were killed in the bloody attack.

It was however not clear if the interview was the reason he was arrested, though the family says that was the message the Police left behind. Mr. Gyang was reportedly arrested on "orders from above," said a resident who witnessed the arrest.

He was later said to have been a suspect in a cattle rustling case. The detained was however released according to sources few minutes before 8pm along with his little boy after eight hours in custody.

He is expected to return to the Police Criminal Investigation Department, Police Headquarters, Jos for further questioning. Police authorities could not respond to an inquiry sent in a text as of the time of publishing this report. Culled from change.org.
