Simon Cowell: Ginger Tea Made Me A Dad! (with his friend's wife)

X FACTOR supremo Simon Cowell became a dad-to-be after swigging a love potion. Cowell, 53, revealed last night he is a big fan of ginger tea, which is reputed to be an aphrodisiac. The tea is claimed to make men more virile and boost their sperm count. And it was thought to be the reason why Cowell’s girlfriend Lauren Silverman suddenly found herself pregnant. The US socialite, 36, was not planning a baby as she was still with her husband Andrew, 37. Cowell spoke of his love for ginger tea and a healthy lifestyle as he promoted the new series of The X Factor USA in Hollywood. He said: “I drink ginger tea all day long, which is amazing.” Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden, 42, revealed he is obsessive about the drink. She said: “He has a ginger tea, which we all now have. One of his PAs literally smashes it against a wall into a pulp and then strains it and adds water. It is delicious.” US TV medic Dr Mehmet Oz said: “Ginger tea can increase sperm fertility as well as maximizing sexual joy and satisfaction for both males and females.”

And one medical website says: “A study conducted a few years back clearly indicated that men who drink ginger tea regularly show a rise in libido and sperm count.” On the website gingertea.com, fans say: “For couples who are having difficulty conceiving, adding ginger tea to the repertoire may be a healthy, natural way to aid in conception.”

Cowell, who was at The X Factor USA premiere party with ex-girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy, 40, also told of his thrill at seeing an ultrasound scan of his baby.
He said: “You see this little thing and it gets bigger and it’s an amazing sensation.” Cowell was joined at the party by judge Kelly Rowland, 32, in a stunning split dress. A Clash of the TV titans starts tonight as Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor go head-to-head for the best ratings
