An explosion has hit the Nigerian capital, Abuja, near the scene of a deadly bomb attack last month.
The blast happened in Nyanya, close to the bus station where at least 70 people died in an attack on 14 April. Initial reports say a number of people have been killed and many more have been injured.
Correspondents say it was caused by a car bomb. The Islamist militant group Boko Haram has previously staged attacks Abuja. One eyewitness said he saw 20 bodies at the scene. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Most of Boko Haram's attacks have been in the north-east of Nigeria. But the bombing on 14 April raised fears that the militants could be trying to expand their area of operation. A BBC news extract.
