A mother gave birth to a pair of rare “mono mono” twins Friday — and they both entered the world together in a beautiful way: holding hands. “I couldn’t think, I started tearing up immediately,” the father said  “It was beautiful.”

Sarah Thistlethwaite gave birth to a healthy Jenna and Jillian in an Ohio hospital, after 57 days of bed rest and monitoring at Akron General Medical Center according to WEWS. The two are monoamniotic twins, meaning they shared the same placenta and amniotic sac during pregnancy.

Medical professionals put the odds of such an occurrence at about one in every 10,000 births. “I’ve been practicing high-risk obstetrics for about 35 years and I’ve seen less than 10 cases,” Dr. Justin Lavin from Akron General Medical Center But, what really turned heads, was the way the two held each other’s hand as they entered the world together. “They’re already best friends,” Thistlethwaite said. “I can’t believe they were holding hands. That’s amazing.” “Best Mother’s Day present ever,” she added.
