At one point in his life, this high school student thought: ‘This is definitely a good idea.’ Quinton Murphy provoked both outrage and laughter when he stripped to a pair of leopard skin underpants at his graduation ceremony. The teenager shocked those in attendance by walking on stage, ripping off his robe and throwing his hands in the air to celebrate the end of his school career.
But the stunt back-fired after he was stripped of his diploma certificate and banned from attending future events at the school.‘This young man chose not to show respect for his colleagues,’ Dr Frank Till, the school’s headteacher, told the Fayetteville Observer. ‘It used to be that the audience would be disruptive at graduation. We’ve worked hard to get the audiences to respect our students. ‘Graduation went on as if the incident hadn’t occurred,’ he added. ‘I was very proud of the students and very proud of the school.’
Mr Murphy was stripped of his diploma certificate but is still a graduate and can prove it with his transcripts. The incident happened at the Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Wednesday.
