#Oscar Pistorius; Prosecutors To Appeal Against Verdict

In delivering her judgement on the case of Oscar Pistrorius on the 13th October, even to an ordinal person, Judge Thokozile Masipa was wrong in imposing the most lenient sentence for a case of CULPABLE HOMICIDE anywhere in the world. To be honest even though I am not an expert in law, I could tell she made a error in law.

Culpable homicide is a specific offence in various jurisdictions within the Commonwealth of Nations which involves the illegal killing of a person either with or without an intention to kill depending upon how a particular jurisdiction has defined the offence, according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Today you could expect nothing but the South African National Prosecution Authority announcing their decision to appeal both the conviction and sentence on their Twitter account, Pistorius was given a five-year sentence for the culpable homicide of Miss Steenkamp, 29, last week.

However, his defence team indicated that he could serve as little as ten months in prison before carrying out the rest of the sentence under house arrest.
Pistorius, 27, was cleared of the murder charge, which carries a possible sentence of 25 years, after Judge Thokozile Masipa accepted his claims that he mistook his girlfriend for an intruder.

However, her decision drew criticism from some legal experts who said she had made an error in her interpretation of the legal concept of 'dolus eventualis', whereby a person is held accountable for the foreseeable consequences of their actions. Read More @; .express.co.uk.
