INEC chairman Proff Jega last night announced that the elections has been postponed due to the advice of the security chiefs that they can't provide security as they are currently on a major offensive in the North East and need 6 weeks.
According to Mr Jega, 26 out of the 28 registered parties were at the meeting. In his words, Jega said the postponement is based on national security report and collection of PVC. He said only 66% of the 96% PVCs has been collected
The new date is scheduled as follows; All federal elections including presidential election will now hold March 28th while Governorship elections and all other state elections will hold April 11th 2015.
