A wanted Mafia boss has been captured after he became born-again and was baptised in a video broadcasted on YouTube.
Antonio Montella was filmed being submerged in the sea by a priest off the Italian coast of Pinetamare. When the footage came to the attention of the Italian police, they were able to pinpoint the exact spot where the fugitive had his sins washed away as he was being baptised into the Evangelical Church.
Italian police officers made a visit to the region which is between Naples and Caserta and spoke to the pastor and other parishioners . Their prayers were answered when the parishioners led them to track down Montella, 42, at his home in the Villaricca district and placed him under arrest.
He was said to have gone on the run after he was convicted of drug offenses and being a Mafia boss. He will be held in custody until he starts his five year jail term in Rome, the papal city.
Parishioner Adelmo Iadanza said; 'He seemed like a nice man, I am sure there must have been a mistake somewhere. He keeps himself very much to himself, but was always in church at the weekend.'
