Flesh-Eating Disease Reportedly Spreading Through Syrian

An article originally published by www.dailmirror.co.uk has it that a flesh-eating disease surfacing in Syria now plagues hundreds of Islamic State (ISIS) fighters, proving to be fatal if not treated properly. The disease, Leishmaniasis, has been infecting the ISIS fighters in the city of Raqqa in Syria. 

Symptoms of the illness include large gaping wounds, low red blood cells, fever, and a swollen spleen and liver. The wound also eats at the flesh around it. Cases in Syria began cropping up last year. This prompted many doctors from Doctors Without Borders, an international medical organization, to come to the country and help stop the disease from spreading.

However, they have since abandoned the war-torn nation after the Islamic State seized it. Many of those in the country's medical centers have also been shut down in Syria following the ISIS attacks.
