Tow men accused of being the ringleaders of the Bali Nine drug smugglers in Indonesia were among nine men executed yesterday at 6pm, local time. Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, along with six others from various countries including four Nigerians ( Raheem Agbaje Salami, Sylvester Obiekwe and Okwudili Oyatanze), were taken into the jungle on Nusakambangan and executed by a firing squad made up of 12 police privates, according to local media outlets, metro UK reports.
On of the men, Andrew Chan reportedly married his fiancée Febyanti Herewila within the prison walls a few hours before his execution. The only woman among the lot, Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso, was spared death last minute after new information emerged about her case. A woman who reportedly tricked her into carrying drugs turned herself in earlier that yesterday.
