Pope Francis according to reports is only the fourth pontiff to ever visit the US, so it's understandably why his presence is causing quite a lot of excitement during his time in the States. Many have taken to social media to gush about the 78-year-old, including Kim Kardashian, who tweeted ‘the pope is dope’. metro.co.uk reports.
Unfortunately an Argentinean site took Kim’s tweet a bit too literally and has accused the pregnant reality TV star of criticising the pope. Entertainment news website primiciasya.com recently published an article expressing outrage at the 34-year-old’s tweet, which they believe reads ‘the Pope is drugs’.
The piece, headlined ‘Did Kim Kardashian attack the Pope?’ discusses the pontiff’s many accomplishments and asks ‘What was Kim trying to say?’, which is a particularly hilarious question considering they’ve completely misinterpreted what she was actually saying. It goes on to argue that her message clearly wasn’t a positive one and suggests the pope may have ‘found an enemy’ in the US.
A number of users have since commented on the article and attempted to explain that describing someone as ‘dope’ isn’t insulting them, but it’s still up on the site. Also, we should point out that #popeisdope has been tweeted by lots of people and was actually trending at one point. Metro UK
