Religion In Politics; Presidency Under Pressure To Relocate Villa Church, Too Close For President Buhari's Liking!

Indications emerged Tuesday night that despite denials by top officials of the administration, the Presidency had come under pressure to relocate the Villa Chapel, where Christians have been worshipping on Sundays, vanguardngr reports.

Informed Presidency sources familiar with the location of the Villa Chapel, which was built and inaugurated by President Olusegun Obasanjo, is said to be too close to Buhari’s bedroom and kitchen and must give way.

Findings show that unlike Obasanjo who deliberately built the church to be close to his official residence so that he could enjoy worship and prayers from the comfort of his bedroom, the same would not apply to the new president, who is of a different faith.

You would also recall, former president Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who was also of Buhari's faith was also resident in that same official residence for two years without having to give a damn over the location of the church. It's high time President Buhari lives above board following his recent comment, that Nigeria is a circular state.

We brought you the news earlier this month that President Muhammadu Buhari have ordered the closure of the Aso Rock Chapel in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.  In-as-much as this is a worrying development, Nigerians who know Buhari as an Islamist fundamentalist, saw this coming. Muhammadu Buhari informed Nigerians that it is Allah's will that he will ensure that Islam is spread across the country. In  all fairness, closing a Church is the work of Allah and Buhari will work as directed.

Presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan are both Christians and never attempted to close the Mosque in the Villa under as any disguise or excuse.
