Student Who Found Out Her Boyfriend Was A WOMAN 'Would Rather Have Been Molested By A Man' - Express Uk

Gayle Newland
A STUDENT who discovered that her boyfriend of two years was actually a WOMAN using a prosthetic penis for sex has told a court she would rather have been molested by a man.

The young woman was tricked into using a blindfold during sex by "evil" Gayle Newland, who created a fictional male suitor with an elaborate back story to carry out the deception, a jury was told. She thought she was having sex with a man called Kye Fortune, a half-Filipino, half-Latino fellow student who was recovering from a brain tumour and did not want her to see his scars.

But she was horrified to discover she was actually going to bed with 25-year-old Newland, who used bandages to flatten out her breasts and a prosthetic penis to trick her alleged victim into thinking she was a man.

The court heard how the woman received a friend request in 2011 from a young man called Kye, who said he was a fellow student.  The pair chatted online and the woman repeatedly asked if they could meet up, only to be rebuffed by a series of excuses.

Eventually Kye explained that he was in hospital after being involved in a car crash, and that during their examinations medics had discovered he had a brain tumour. However, the profile was being operated by Newland all along, who had put up a number of photographs of 'Kye' with members of his family, the court was told.  Eventually Kye agreed to meet the woman, but on the condition that she wore a blindfold at all times because he was self-conscious about his injuries.

The complainant told a jury how the pair first met in a hotel in Chester, and said she put on the blindfold of a sleeping mask and scarf.  She said Kye was in the bathroom when she entered the hotel room and the bed was covered with rose petals and Hello Kitty bears.

She told Chester Crown Court that they then had sex before Kye said he had to return to hospital. The jury was told that the couple met up several times over the next two years, before the woman eventually realised something was wrong and removed her blindfold during sex.

Describing what she said was their last sexual encounter before she went to the police, she said: "When I was having sex I grabbed for the back of his head and my hand got caught on something. It did not feel right.

"I was sat on the bed, he was standing up. Something in my mind said 'pull it (the blindfold) off, pull it off'. "I just pulled it off. Gayle was just standing there ... I just couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe it. "Straight away she held her hand down over her face and said 'it's not what you think'."

The complainant said Newland then referred to a previous conversation they had had about a movie called 17 Again, in which a character is transported into a younger body and has to convince people it is actually him.

She told the police: "I couldn't believe that person would want to do something like this to me ... these last two years had fabricated this world around me. "He ... Gayle ... pulled the wool over my eyes." She added: "I don't go for women, that is not my thing.

"I know you can't compare rape case to rape case, I know I shouldn't be saying this ... I think I would have preferred it, I know it sounds sick, the fact that it was a girl. I didn't know what to do with myself. "I did not want to go to a doctor and say I was raped by a girl."

The court heard how, after finding out the truth, the woman texted Newland saying: "Are you for real? You should be locked up for what you have done. You really are a piece of work. I have just one question, why me?" When Newland tried to contact her to explain herself, she replied: "You have no other explanation other than you are pure evil."

The court heard how the woman met Newland through Kye - who said they were old classmates - and that the pair had become "best friends" as a result.  Newland, who appeared upset and tearful during the proceedings, claims that her alleged victim knew she was in fact a woman and that they were both "going along with some sort of fantasy" that she was Kye.

Defending her, Nigel Power QC asked the complainant: ""Do you think it looks a bit daft, looking back on it?"  To which she replied: "Looking back on it, in hindsight, through all the counselling I have had, I know I was not in a great place then. "It's partly my own fault for being so needy, so stupid."

Mr Power then said: "So perhaps you wanted Kye to perform this role for you, knowing that Gayle was doing it with neither of you admitting it." The alleged victim then replied: "The only thing I ever wanted and still want is a normal life." Newland, of Hooton Road, Willaston, denies five counts of sexual assault between February and June 2013. The trial continues. Culled from; express.co.uk
