Twitter On The Edge After Donald Trump Proposed Muslims To Have Their Own Database And Special IDs

Donald Trump has indicated he wants Muslims to be placed under increased surveillance and have their own special ID papers. The Republican nominee, who seems to be back-peddling after saying the US should ‘shut down the mosques’, has clearly forgotten what happened in Germany less than a century ago.

Trump also reckons we should ‘look at the mosques… very, very carefully’ – and added that the Syrian refugees Barack Obama has agreed to welcome to the US will ‘have to go back’.

Following his comments about mosques, the billionaire told Yahoo! that he would want Muslims to be registered on their own database and carry special IDs no matter how people feel about that.

He said: ‘We’re going to have to do things that we never did before. Some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule.’ Unsurprisingly his idea to give those who practise Islam their own special papers left Twitter on edge.
