The coming of president Muhammadu Buhari has seen an unprecedented clampdown on bloggers and journalists in Nigeria. Since July 2015 more Nigerian bloggers and journalists have been arrested and detained than was the case in the whole the six year Goodluck Jonathan was in power.
And now arrests and incarceration has turned to murder! Abdulhakeem Bauchin Bauchi, a Blogger/Writer residing in Bauchi State by origin, has been found dead few days after he went missing. According to his family members, Abdul whose writings centered on Human Rights, was killed by unknown persons yesterday and his body dumped on the roadside. He was schduled to have his wedding in a few weeks time. His friends have taken to Facebook to mourn his death...
