The Customary Government of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra wishes to inform all Biafrans that the one month program of Nigeria Army in Northern Biafra, codenamed Operation Python Dance II, has finally come to an end yesterday the 14th Oct 2017. The military engagement in the Igbo area of Biafra land, which can best be described as a military invasion that started on the 15th Sept 2017, was billed to end yesterday the 14 Oct 2017.
The Customary Government also has taken note of all that took place during the military maneuver which the Customary Government would rather choose to refer to as a Nigerian display of force of intimidation on Biafran civilians. Foremost to be mentioned was the harassment and intimidation of Biafrans in Umuahia and Aba Provinces of Biafra, amongst many others. Within this period was also the proscription of. Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB and subsequent gazetting of same as 'militant terrorist org'.
It's important to remind all Biafrans that the legal division of the Customary Government has initiated a legal action against the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Attorney General of the Federation on the above subject matter.
The Customary Government, therefore, wishes to reassure the great Biafran public that the Customary Government is on top of all these acts of aggression targeted on our People by Nigerian Army without any provocation.
It's our belief that since the case between Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, concerning our rights to self-determination is in court already, that Nigerian Government would have respected that legal process, and refer all issues concerning Biafra to the court instead of resorting to the unimaginable use of maximum force.
We, therefore, want to continue to reassure our people of the Customary Government preparedness to continue to apply caution and diplomacy in this struggle to free ourselves from this obnoxious situation.
We consequently direct you all to continue to apply restraint in the face of this unnecessary show of force against us.
It's our belief that sooner than later Providence will play into our hands as we battle for our freedom.
The Customary Government will therefore not expect the continuation, reestablishment or reintroduction of any other Operation Python Dance now nor in future.
We wish to inform our great Biafran people that our Solicitor and the leader of our Diplomatic team has written to the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), African Union (AU) and Nigerian Government, informing them of the preparedness of Biafrans to hold a referendum to determine the status of Biafran people as a 'state within a state' in Nigeria.
Subsequently, further information will be disseminated on that regards. You are therefore advised to always stay turned to BVI Channel 1 news for more news concerning the referendum.
